Draftsman vs Architect
The state of Arizona does not require you to use a licensed architect to draw your house. This means that you can hire a draftsman instead, which can save you thousands of dollars. Since the draftsman didn’t have to go to four years of college and internships, he is able to charge you less. To be honest, though, this does make finding a well-trained draftsman more difficult. I have had heard stories from my customers of draftsman that they tried working with that didn’t know what they were doing, weren’t professional, or just stopped returning their calls. Meet with one of our designers to discuss your goals and create a draft of your future floor plan, site plan, or garage.
Dream Home Set of plans – $1,500+
Includes a Design Consult. You also get a full set of plans in PDF format ready to submit to your contractor. The set of plans includes the following: site plan, floor plan, foundation plan, framing plan, mechanical plan, shear plan, roof plan, and elevations. This is $1 per square foot with a minimum of $1,500 for a single-story home. For multi-story plans add $500 per story.
Custom Garage Set of plans – $1,000+
Includes a Design Consult. You also get a full set of plans in PDF format ready to submit to your contractor. The set of plans includes the following: site plan, floor plan, foundation plan, framing plan, mechanical plan, sheer plan, roof plan, and elevations. $1,000 for single or two-car garages. $1,500 if includes living space. For multi-story plans add $500 per story.
